Insulator (Heat and Frost) Foundational Skills Training Program.

Our program is designed to provide job seekers with the skills demanded by Alberta's mechanical insulation sector. From foundational knowledge to employability skills and safety training, we ensure you are site-ready from day one.

Module 1: 
Insulation Basics 

Build a strong foundation in the Insulator (Heat and Frost) trade, covering how insulation systems work, common materials and tools, and basic trade math.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Introduction to the insulation trade 

  • Materials, tools, and  installation concepts

  • Trade math and measurement fundamentals

Module 2: Safety & Job Readiness

Learn the safety standards and workplace skills required to succeed on the job site and be ready for your first day of work.

  • Workplace safety and hazard awareness

  • Proper use of PPE and safe work practices

  • Communication, teamwork, and job readiness skills

Learning Outcomes:

Module 3:
Hands-on Practice

Apply your knowledge through practical, hands-on training that simulates real job tasks.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Working with insulation materials and tools

  • Measuring, cutting, and installing insulation systems

  • Completing basic insulation projects and tasks

The program begins with flexible online learning that fits your schedule, followed by two weeks of hands-on training to help you build real skills and job site confidence.

Program Format
Online training: approximately 10–14 hours, self-paced
In-person training: scheduled across Alberta

Week 1: Commercial applications
Week 2: Industrial applications

Eligibility Requirements
  • Current resident of Alberta
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • 18+ years of age 
  • No prior construction experience required
